Sara O'Connor - Artist

 

     I paint in a realistic style to capture the pure, uncomplicated joy of childhood and the sweet comfort of nostalgia. Working with oil on canvas, my practice centers on vibrant, light-filled representations of everyday treasures—from vintage candy wrappers to the fleeting, innocent expressions of children. As a predominately self-taught realist painter, my technique is guided by intense observation, an eye for rich color, and a deep appreciation for the physical details that shape our early memories. Ultimately, my goal is to invite viewers to step away from the complexities of modern life and reconnect with the simple, universal feelings of happiness and wonder.
